Industry Knowledge

Jefferson Industrial Software, LLC, is an independent company.

The J-MOS System was designed, is maintained, and is physically located in a fully functioning custom architectural wood manufacturing facility.
We do not currently offer software to other industries, only the wood and architectural millworking industry.

Cost*

J-MOS is “site” licensed regardless of your company’s size. The cost is designed so your company can achieve a rapid “return on investment”.

Depending on the selected packages, amount of training and quantity of work stations, are all determining factors of the total price of the system.

You may chose to start with a basic "core" package and then build on to it as time progresses.

Call our Sales Department at 800-811-0118, or email Sales@J-MOS.com and request a price quote.

Training, Service and Support

The J-MOS System is an implemented software system. J-MOS's attributes are determined on how your company currently does business. We tweak the system onsite so we can be become familiar in your real-time environment.

After you are implemented, we do additional live on line Q&A training about a month later (or as needed). We consider training phased. Considering you need to collect data over a period of time before you can really get the benefits of some of the J-MOS advanced features (i.e.: capacity planning, product time signatures, etc.).
J-MOS is intended to be used day-in and day-out. Once you become familiar, your constant usage will keep you in practice. If you forget or want to try something new, just call and we will help.

Learning Curve

Even though the J-MOS System is massive, the thing to remember is each department has their specific little area of the program they have to work. Thus, everyone doesn't have to know everything about all things! For example: Shop personnel only need familiarization with the punch clock and how to request materials. They do not need to know setting up baseline jobs and creating work orders (unless this is preferred of course).

Typically, a company with a shop crew of fifty employees will be using the time clock in about one and a half to two hours, regardless of their computer skills. Shop downtime during training is minimal, depending on crew size and how training is phased.
Shop crew only have to know four things – Their name, pin number, what they’re working on and what task they are about to do, that’s it!

After a few hours, office personnel (project managers, production managers, etc.) will be creating baseline jobs and millwork orders.

The J-MOS “Trained Trainer” will be trained thoroughly and this takes about one and a half to two days.

Training for material handling, scheduling, reporting, HotTracking, and other specialized program attributes; is done on an individual basis with your companies designated personnel.

Ease of Use

The interface of the punch screen is extremely easy to use. If the employee has only ATM experience he will find using J-MOS no more complicated.

Like anything, the more you use it, the more you will get the hang of it. J-MOS software is to be used all the time, daily, as a tool. By design, J-MOS opens very quickly from the desktop. Nothing is more annoying than having to go into and out of a program all day long and have to wait a minute or so for it to open.

New segments of J-MOS are tested for ease of use prior to being released. We act very quickly to customer suggestions on how to make things easier and quicker.

We are always listening!

… Or you can transform this screen to the language of your choice

Your Data and Proprietary Data

The J-MOS System is a totally freestanding software package. We use Microsoft® Access as a database platform because of the familiarity with Microsoft® products. This makes generating your own reports, importing and exporting data, and using third party software products easier for you.

A few notes about the J-MOS System

1. Multiple project monitoring is Real-Time based.
00a) Run multiple baseline jobs and multiple work orders simultaneously
00b) The user-friendly software enables managers to obtain instant real-time status of all employees and projects entered in the system.
00c) J-MOS facilitates analysis and comparisons of estimated hours vs. actual hours

2. Job Costing for labor is accurate and real-time

3. Payroll hour’s documentation is real-time, complete and accurate.

4. Self monitoring time clock system to reduce punch errors

5. Task Monitoring can be flagged to alert you of changes

6. Millwork Orders are individually numbered and unique. Consistent and uniform referencing increases Project Manager monitoring through accurate reports and updates.
